Valentine’s Day is being celebrated this Sunday on  Treasure Island Oldies  (www.treasureislandoldies.com).   Host  Michael Godin will be spinning  “lost treasures”  that night for young lovers and those still young at heart.   The show airs  Sunday evening from 6:00 pm  – 10:00 pm Pacific time.

In keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme, here’s an excerpt from my “Moment in Time” feature   that is schedule to be aired this Sunday  around 8:20 pm Pacific time.

IN THE SPIRIT OF VALENTINE’S DAY, OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO A FEMALE VOCALIST FROM THE EARLY 60’S WHO BLESSED US WITH A BEAUTIFUL BALLAD AND SUBSEQUENTLY SLIPPED AWAY INTO THE SUNSET.

THERE WERE A NUMBER OF GREAT FEMALE ARTISTS TEARING UP THE CHARTS IN THE EARLY 60’S.   WE HAD THE WELL ESTABLISHED, BRENDA LEE AND PATSY CLINE IN THE UNITED STATES, PAT HERVEY WAS MAKING A NAME FOR HERSELF HERE IN CANADA AND ACROSS THE ATLANTIC, HELEN SHAPIRO WAS DRAWING A LOT OF ATTENTION IN THE UK.

OUR FORGOTTEN ARTIST MADE HER ONE AND ONLY APPEARANCE ON THE CHARTS IN 1962.

And here’s the first 30+ seconds of this song.   Just click on  Oh My Angel

Hope you get the opportunity to listen in on Sunday to hear the rest of the song  and find out who that forgotten female artist was.   By the way,  if you can provide any information on  this artist’s  past or what she is doing today, please contact me.
