By engaging our fellow employees we are able to develop trust. Once established, trust leads to innovation. Innovation leads to new or better ways of doing valued things (which usually results in improving the bottom line).
So what do you do if you feel you have a trust issue with a member of your team? An approach that JJ Johnston, General Manager Corus Radio Vancouver, endorses is:
“If you feel someone doesn’t trust you, chances are they feel you don’t trust them. When you are feeling this way, go out of your way to find something specific to show them trust.”
