Give Back and Make a Difference

In the circles that I travel in, there are a number of people who stand out for their willingness to give or assist others — no matter how strapped they are for time, cash or opportunities.

The two things that they have in common are a sense of self worth and the satisfaction that they are making a difference (without expecting anything in return).

Reflecting upon yourself and your associates, do these statements apply:  “I’ll give back when…” followed by, “When I have more time” or “When I make more money” or “As soon as…”.  If so, I suggest that you give some thought to the following quote from former TV anchorman and journalist, Tom Brokaw, who said:

“It’s easy to make a buck.  It’s a lot tougher to make a difference.”
