Miracle Mile Memories

Last November I received a call from a lady in  Vernon, BC  wanting to purchase one of my Miracle Mile limited edition prints  as a surprise for her husband at Christmas.

As it turns out, her husband had attended that eventful race at the British Empire & Commwealth Games  back on August 7, 1954 – a race that resulted in the two greatest milers of their time (Roger Bannister & John Landy) both  posting sub four minute times.   The race also put Vancouver on the map internationally.   For more on this race, I invite you to visit the Miracle Mile page on this site.

That race was a magical moment in time.   The receiving of the print at Christmas also proved to be a magical moment in time in that Vernon household.   Per the lady of the house, ”  …  the miracle mile print is framed and on the wall.   It has brought a lot of excitement and stories into our home.   My sons also enjoyed the DVD as they are avid sports enthusiasts and didn’t mind hearing their father talk ” ¦ and talk ” ¦ about the race.   Not easy to impress   22 and 20 year olds.”

As for me, her response was one of the best Christmas presents I have ever received.
