Setting Ground Rules For Meetings

In setting up ground rules for meetings be sure that those participating in the meetings have the opportunity to suggest, discuss and approve  the ground rules.

Successful ground rules are behaviour based where issues are attacked, not individuals.   The past is not dwelled upon as  the future is the focus.   Complementing this are 3 things:

  1. Have an agenda and stick to it.
  2. Think creatively and openly.   Have a wilingness to share.
  3. Work towards solutions and results, not processes.
