Just “Service”

Posted by Tom Locke on May 28th, 2012 filed in Business, Life

I had the pleasure of reading a new book by Bob Burg and John David Mann over the weekend, “It’s Not About You … A Little Story About What Matters Most In Business”.

One aspect that they focused on in Chapter 5 was service.   When this is brought up in business circles  it is usually referenced as “Customer Service”.

In this chapter, Burg & Mann illustrate that service goes beyond the customers.   It’s about caring and empathy for employees, employees’ families and  the community.

Simply put, service encompasses everything you interact with.

Hi Tom! Excellent point about “service”. Really speaks to me. Worth seeing if our local library has this book. K.
