A Night to Remember

Last Saturday night in Vancouver I had the pleasure of attending a concert featuring the Queen of Rockabilly, Wanda Jackson.

Wanda and her back up band, The Dusty 45’s, were nothing short of spectacular.   Five minutes into her set, she had the audience eating out of her hand.

In addition to singing, she also provided some great background when she briefly dated and toured with Elvis Presley during the mid 50’s.   She also talked about what she has being doing recently, including her  relationship and  touring with Adele of “Rolling In The Deep” fame.

Wanda turns 75 on Oct 20 this year and is still going strong.   A tip of the hat to one of early female pioneers of rock ‘n’ roll.
