Doing It Right

As we age we will be attending more “Celebrations of Life”.

Although dreaded by many, there will be no escaping these encounters.   Simply put they are an integral part of the “circle of life”.

Last Saturday I attended such a function.   Beyond a doubt it was the best celebration of life  I have ever attended.   Thanks to some very thoughtful thinking and organization by the family, those attending walked into a warm and relaxed setting that allowed us to truly share and honour the contributions of our deceased colleague and friend.

I felt as if our friend was there with us and could only picture him smiling down on the proceedings.   He had made his life count and his family and friends  made sure that he would be remembered in that regard.   They did it right.
