“Bear” Bryant’s Mindset

I’m a big fan of US College football and have been a die-hard supporter of the Alabama Crimson Tide since my early teenage years.

One of the main reasons for this has to do with the impression that legendary Alabama coach, Paul “Bear” Bryant made on me.   He was a strict disciplinarian and the model of integrity and fairness.   His overall coaching career records stands at 323 wins, 85 losses and 17 ties.

On obtaining desired outcomes, he said:   “My attitude has always been … if it’s worth playing, it’s worth paying the price to win.”

When he was once asked if he walked on water, he replied, “Well I won’t say I can or can’t;   but if I do, I do it before most people get up in the morning.”
