Patsy Cline Memorial
Posted by Tom Locke on June 18th, 2014 filed in History, Life, MusicLast month I was in Nashville for a board meeting of an international film group I belong to. I had the pleasure of staying at the home of another member, Steve Minor, and his wife.
Steve is retired now but works on photography projects that convey history. One of them relates to music of the area he lives in and around.
On one of his travels he stumbled upon this:
This cross pays tribute to Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins & Randy Hughes who tragically passed away in a plane crash in this area on March 5, 1963. I am a big fan of Patsy Cline and did not even know this existed.
What was more amazing, is that Steve, after discovering this, walked down a trail and stumbled upon the following rock with the etching of the names of these great C&W performers. Wow! Talk about best kept secrets.
