The next time someone offers their opinion on something, rather than comparing it with yours, finding fault with it and/or subsequently dismissing it, try this alternative approach – listen to it fully, digest it and then analyze it with an open mind in search of some validity.

This approach is void of judging and criticizing.  Those who have used this approach will tell you that they have:

• have found others to be more open with  them; and,
• have felt much better about themselves.
