Instinct

I have always marveled at the ability of elite athletes.  However, sometimes we have a tendency to put them on a pedestal because of their athletic achievements when in fact if it wasn’t for sport they would be hard pressed to achieve anything.

I remember asking one athlete how he was able to consistently perform at a high level.  The question actually dumbfounded him. He said he just did things naturally and never really thought or analyzed how he did it.  I guess you could say he acted on instinct.

And this maybe very true.  A believer in that there is truth in jest, the following quote from legendary baseball player, Dizzy Dean, after being hit on the head by a baseball, may just be the answer.

Dean said,“The doctors x-rayed my head and found nothing.”
